Automation The Millard Sheets Library is automated with VTLS Virtua software. Modules in use include Cataloging, Circulation, OPAC with a Web iPortal Gateway, and Reserve Room. We are in process of implementing the Serials module over the next year. Computers for Student Use There are 40+ iMacs available for students and faculty. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Word are the main applications installed. One station has a scanner with Photoshop available. Printing There is a high volume printers in the Library for student use metworked to all computers. At present, printing is free, but you are required to login with your Xnumber and password. If you use more than your initial allotment of copies, you will be required to go to Academic Computing and request more.

Copying
There are two copiers in the Library for student use, one of which is a color copier. They reduce and enlarges. Copies range from $.10 each for black and white to $.50 for small color copies and $1 for large.

Proxy Server
The Library subscribes to 15 different databases which are available throughout the campus through IP address recognition. Databases may be accessed off campus through the Proxy Server.

Wireless Web Connection
There are several wireless access points on campus, including one in the Library. If you wish to take advantage of wireless cabability, simply go to the 4th floor Academic Computing Department. They have a form you will fill out and they will provide a key and assistance. Coming Soon: Automatic sign-on with Xnumber and password.

Video/DVD Viewing
Videos and DVDs circulate, but if needed, there is a viewing area with a monitor and VHS and DVD players. Most iMacs will play DVDs and headphones are available to check out.

Library Web
The Library website is designed to provide a learning environment for students and faculty. Links to all Library resources are available as well as Otis-specific tutorials and librarian-recommended websites.

Information Literacy
Otis has an Information Competency Across the Curriculum Program. Most of it is offered through the Library Web. TILT is an interactive basic tutorial required of students. It is managed through the website. There are also many course pathfinders --maps which will walk you through the steps of research for a particular course. These are created in close collaboration with the faculty.

Image Collections
In 2001, the DID (Digital Image Database) software was installed and in now in use in several courses. The Library is currently building an art history image bank, currently at 12,000 images, to support faculty instruction. New teachers wanting to use the DID for teaching are added each year.

O-Space
Course support materials for many classes will be available through O-Space, the Otis Learning Management System which provides basic course websites with tools for online discussions, announcements, and downloading course content such as readings or assignments.  The instructors let students know if they expect them to use O-Space.
